Trump Blocked From Deploying National Guard: Oregon Claps Back

On a dramatic 2025 Sunday night, a federal judge pulled the emergency brake (aka a temporary restraining order) stopping Trump’s attempt to flood Oregon with National Guard troops, including the entire California contingent. This all kicked off after California cozied up with Oregon in a lawsuit over 200 Golden State Guardsmen heading to Portland, probably confused about why they’re there. Meanwhile, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott upped the ante by authorizing 400 Texas Guardsmen to ‘protect federal officials,’ which apparently made Oregon and Illinois go, 'Wait, what?'—because when states deploy troops without an RSVP, chaos, confusion, and aggressive social media posts ensue.
