Activists Board Boat, Israel’s Coastline Says Nope

In a classic case of 'international waters, but not international patience,' Israeli troops seized the pro-Palestinian activist vessel Handala on Sunday. The Freedom Flotilla Coalition, who organised the grand sea adventure, reported that 21 activists and journalists were 'violently intercepted' and then taken into the port of Ashdod. So much for turning the sea into a peace conference—turns out Israel prefers the port over the party. The activists got an unexpected trip to Ashdod, which is probably not the cultural exchange they had in mind.
