Iran's UN Sanction Encore: Ten Years Later, Still No Retirement
Photo by Andrew Neel on Unsplash
After about a decade-long break from the international sanction spotlight, Iran is back in the UN's dramatic sanctions lineup, starring as the main act. The West, presumably fresh from its annual 'Let’s Annoy Tehran' convention, is piling on pressure like a Netflix show adding unnecessary plot twists. Imagine ten years of relative charm followed by a surprise reunion tour of restrictions, penalties, and suspicion. Despite decade-long attempts at diplomacy, Iran’s Iranian spice is too hot for the UN’s taste buds now. Spoiler alert: nobody brings popcorn to international diplomacy but everybody ends up watching the reruns.
