Haribo Gummy Bear Crushes Nitecore in Battery Hunger Games

Last month, The Verge’s Liz Lopatto revealed that ultralight backpackers are obsessing over a $36Wh Haribo gummy bear power bank, because why carry tech when you can smuggle candy? Teaming up, Liz and Sean Hollister pitted Haribo's 10,000mAh wonder against carbon-fiber-clad Nitecore and the gadgety Iniu—complete with a tiny 100% battery display, because suspense is life. Turns out, grown adults hiking full-grown trails prefer jelly beans over sciencey pros. The gummy bear merch, endorsed by outsized nerd enthusiasm and not by hiking logic, staged a battery bake-off worthy of a campsite campfire saga. Outdoor gear just got sugary.
