Son Quits Dad’s Law Firm, Drives Off Into Dad’s Regrets

Jackson Aaron grew up trying to be 'the ideal son,' destined to join his dad’s struggling law firm. But at 20, facing exhaustion and an identity crisis, he quietly left Alabama with $1,000, a 1997 Lexus, and ‘what I could fit inside it.’ Without telling anyone, he drove 1,200 miles to New York to be with his girlfriend Jacky. He admits, 'I don't regret leaving, but I do regret how I left.' His dad’s final words on the phone? 'You always said it’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission.' What a bittersweet mic drop!
