Hyundai’s $26B US Dream Detoured by ICE’s 500-Worker Car-cus

Hyundai, the South Korean titan flexing a $26 billion US investment muscle and casting a $7.59 billion spell on Georgia’s Ellabell with their Metaplant, found itself starring in the "largest single-site enforcement operation" aka ICE’s surprise DMV nightmare. Nearly 500 workers, mostly South Korean, were detained—crashing what was supposed to be a celebration of 8,500 jobs and $150 billion in Korean US goodwill. Governor Brian Kemp happily presided over the March grand opening as workers still installed the last bolts—some of which we now learn might've lacked the 'right' paperwork. South Korean leader Lee Jae Myung is stuck between liberal eyes and Trumpian fists, while LG Energy Solution batted back statements about safe and prompt returns. Top it off with a White House line about workplace biz gold standards and immigration policing finesse, and you get a federal car drama cooperatively financed by diplomacy, deterrence, and detentions.
