Hurricane Erin: Nature’s Angriest Jersey Shore Party Crasher

Hurricane Erin decided to throw the worst block party the East Coast never wanted, battering North Carolina's Outer Banks before unleashing 'life-threatening' surf and rip tides as warned by the National Hurricane Center. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency as the Jersey Shore braced for 'major flooding' Thursday night. With 8 to 15 ft waves crashing on Dare County, Erin’s swagger rivaled a Category 5 rampage—though it wisely stayed at Category 2. As the National Weather Service noted, the storm is basically the Atlantic’s rude guest overstaying its welcome for days.
