Eater Wants Gourmet Pitches, Not Your Aunt’s Quiche Story

Eater, the serious food culture overlord, is casting its net wide for pitch-perfect articles—especially from folks who don’t snack professionally on food stories. If you’ve got a niche academic angle, a local city tale, or spooky food history like poop in media, they want you. But beware, no cooking recaps, personal ego salads, or AI-generated ramen pitches allowed. They pay competitively but will kill your pitch faster than you can say 'seed oils controversy.' Various city desks from Atlanta to Nashville swear by emailed pitches and refuse parachute journalists with the ferocity of a food critic attacking a soggy fry.
