From Dishwasher to Ironwoman: Flexing More Than Dishes

Diana Sanchez went from a dishwasher and box packer grinding through 80+ hours a week at minimum wage to an ironworker pulling $30 an hour with just 40 hours of hustle. 'There was no motivation to go to work,' she admitted before flipping the script with Flintridge Center's apprenticeship that offered training, team spirit, and a paycheck almost double minimum wage. Now, with rebar on her shoulders and a union card in hand, she says, 'I have time for my kids now,' proving sometimes you gotta trade those suds for steel to build a better life.
