âHim.â is the only horror movie where getting tackled feels like a demonic combine drill designed by Marlon Wayans himself. Tyriq Withers plays Cam Cade, a QB prodigy promising to dethrone Isaiah White (Wayans) who moonlights as a sadistic coach hosting gladiator fights in a creepy 'film room'âimagine football meets Mortal Kombat with lots of elbows flying instead of special moves. Directed by Justin Tipping, who went through 40 editing versions to nail the ridiculously bloody finale, and sprinkled with Jordan Peele's genius 'anything goes' notes, the movie ends with Cade massacring everyone using a sword on a field too extra for any real team.
