Alexander Soofer, the lucky manager of LA's Abundant Blessings housing program, allegedly turned a $23 million homeless housing fund into a luxury runway from 2018 to 2025. While his staff subsisted on ramen, beans, and breakfast bars, Soofer pocketed at least $10 million, splurging wildly from a $475,000 Greek property to a $15,000 Hermès spree that included $1,250 Paris calf-skin loafers and a $2,450 trotting jacket befitting a European equestrian meme. His purchases also featured $47,000 at Restoration Hardware, $1,000 on cosmetic dermatology, and a four-night Vegas suite for $4,500. Meanwhile, SoCal still counts 187,000 homeless souls with billions spent and auditors calling most programs dubious. Talk about blessing the wrong Abundant!
