Ford Racing Self-Manages Campaign Because Outsourcing Is Hard
In a stunning display of corporate self-reliance or bare-bones budgeting, Ford decided to ditch the traditional route of hiring glamorous outside ad agencies and instead put the entire promotional campaign for Ford Racing in the hands of their own internal racing unit. That's right, the guys who tune engines and smoke tires will now also try their luck with slogans and marketing angles. No fancy consultants, no slick creatives, just pure motor oil and maybe some hastily crafted hashtags. It's like your grandma fixing her own Wi-Fi instead of calling tech support — charmingly brave but inevitably questionable.
