TikTok’s ‘Helpful Notes’: Because Trust Was Overrated

TikTok has graciously decided to turn its U.S. user base into part-time fact-checkers. Now, 'All U.S. TikTok users are able to view the notes that have been rated as helpful and submit their own ratings in return.' So, not only can you scroll past dancing teens, but you can also judge the usefulness of their notes — basically the Yelp reviews of TikTok wisdom. Because nothing says 'reliable information' like crowdsourced thumbs-up from people who watched three cat videos in a row.
