In a shocking turn of events, middle-income Americans have shifted into high gear, accelerating their car-buying timelines amid sky-high price fears. "Consumers are taking proactive steps," says Betty Jotanovic of Santander, confirming that desperation for four wheels now outpaces indecision. After a wild roller coaster of tariffs and policy zigzags, over half of respondents admitted to delaying purchases, but now 55% plan to buy soon. Even Elon Musk jumped on the panic wheel, urging customers to ‘place orders now’ before EV tax credits vanish Sept. 30. The new motto? Buy fast or pay forever.
