Democrats’ 3-Minute Drama: Shutdown Theater vs. GOP Ghost Town

On Tuesday, Democrats are crashing the sparsely attended, speed-run "pro forma" House session like it’s Coachella — except with more congressional drama and fewer sun hats. Led by a senior House Dem ready to tweet 'We care, they don’t,' they're showing up en masse at noon to embarrass Republicans, who are presumably on vacation or searching for their souls. They’ll demand a unanimous consent vote on a government funding & healthcare expansion bill — immediately doomed because GOP will gavel faster than light to cut ’em off. Adding to the soap opera, never-sworn-in Rep-elect Adelita Grijalva looks like she’ll be banished to the gallery, courtesy of Speaker Mike Johnson, who promises to swear her in... sometime next week. Democrats claim it’s all a stunt to expose Johnson's foot-dragging over Epstein files, which sounds like Capitol Hill’s version of a reality TV cliffhanger.
