Columbia University just struck a deal to pay a whopping $200 million to the Trump administration over three years "to settle discrimination allegations," after having $400 million in federal research funding frozen! According to the article, the deal also includes "provisions about diversity, equity, and inclusion programs," which sounds like some pricey affirmative action! At least now Columbia gets to keep the research money—it’s a pricey ransom but hey, "Everything happens for a reason!"
