At the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai, robot boxers dropped more than jabs — they dropped the mic on global AI governance, as Chinese Premier Li Qiang called for 'global solidarity' to tackle fragmented AI rules. Meanwhile, American ringside consultant Donald Trump floated an AI Action Plan to cut regulations, saying it's time to do 'whatever it takes' to lead the world in AI. As one expert put it, international collaboration 'may be difficult with the current US administration,' proving once again that humans might still have control... just barely.
