OpenAI's latest "study mode" for ChatGPT claims to help by throwing questions back at students, but it spectacularly fails to tackle the "underlying disruption of education" caused by generative AI. As the article delicately puts it, the feature 'doesnāt address generative AIās underlying disruption of education.' It's like handing out a fire extinguisher after setting the school on fireāhelpful, but missing the point entirely.
