Canva’s ā€˜Creative OS’: Marketing AI That Isn’t Really an OS

On October 2025, Canva unleashed a so-called 'world-first' AI-powered 'Creative Operating System' that doesn’t run your laptop but supposedly runs your entire marketing life. Co-founder Cameron Adams insists it’s a 'true system of operations,' despite it being a fancy combo of AI design tools, video editors, and a Google Forms clone called Forms that dumps surveys into Canva Sheets. Their new AI, trained 'to understand design complexity,' is wedged behind premium paywalls, forcing creatives to buy the whole shebang or miss out, despite user backlash over hefty subscription hikes justified by this glittery AI magic. Oh, and yes, it’s kind of like Microsoft and Google products all wrapped into one fashionable yet unavoidable monthly fee.
