For decades, neuroscientists insisted the brain reshuffles itself like a hyperactive librarian after losing a limb. But a fresh study slammed the brakes on that theory, saying no such reorganization happens. Apparently, the brain's nerve map isn’t the ever-changing Pinterest board we thought. The research throws a wrench in long-held beliefs and leaves neuroscientists scratching their heads — proving once again, we're all terrible drivers of our own brains.
