Trump’s Federal Cuts Turn Black Women’s Jobs Into Hide-and-Seek Champions

In August 2025, Black women's unemployment rate jumped to a spicy 7.5% — a painful 2.1 percentage point hike from January’s 5.4%, while overall unemployment barely moved from 4.0% to 4.3%. Thanks to Trump's meticulous job-slasher specials, agencies where Black women unusually dominate federal employee charts—USAID, CFPB, and Education, with Black women holding 28% of spots at Ed—became downsizing death traps. Fun fact: Black women make up 12% of the federal workforce, nearly double their general labor force share. Meanwhile, the federal government lost 97,000 jobs so far this year, plus those on the mysterious 'fork in the road' deferral existential crisis. Spoiler: they won’t even show up in unemployment stats until month-end. DEI backlash apparently applying selective unemployment too.
