In a chilling twist straight from the freezer aisle drama, Greenfield reveals Vermont's beloved ice cream maker, Ben & Jerry's, has been playing mute since 2000 when Unilever, that multinational corporate behemoth, bought the frosty brand. Apparently, the scoop-shop's vocal sprinkles on social justice were silenced and sidelined for fear of upsetting Unilever’s power moguls. So much for vanilla values – the corporate giant's cold grip froze out any daring dissent. It's like hiring a vegan chef to work for a fast-food burger joint, then telling them to just keep licking the lettuce. America’s friendly neighborhood ice cream is now on corporate lockdown!
