Tech Vest Dad Drowns Beach Romance in $20K Resentment

In a series where teenage love triangles ferment like unpaid tuition bills, 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' serves up more drama than a Boston VC firm's board meeting. Lola Tung's Belly dates brothers Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher from squabbling families richer in salt-and-pepper hair and puffy tech vests than affection. Dad Adam Fisher, who owns a fictional Boston VC, is the real villain, throwing shade with $20,000 tuition tantrums and favoring med-student Conrad while branding Jeremiah 'super senior.' Weddings planned by VC dads scream country clubs, not beach houses, turning romance into a shareholder meeting with backhanded toasts. Everyone's awful, but the tech vest boss is Oscar-worthy villainy.
