AWS Crash Sends Snapchat, Alexa & Robinhood into Digital ICU
On a random Monday morning, October 7, 2025, AWS decided to play God and pull the internet's rug. Snapchat, Signal, Perplexity, Zoom, Strava, Alexa, even financial favorites Venmo and Robinhood all caught the digital death wave. The chaos vibe was so thick Downdetector was lit up like a Christmas tree. Amazonās DynamoDB got a case of 'significant error rates,' thanks to DNS, aka the internet's phonebook, deciding to take a nap on the US East Coast data centers. CEO Aravind Srinivas openly blamed AWS at 3:22 a.m. ET. By 6:35 a.m., AWS promised āsignificant signs of recoveryāāwhatever that means in internet time. Meanwhile, airlines United and Delta, plus AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile, joined the outage party.
