Melbourne’s Morning Stretch: Earthquake Hits Snooze Button
Photo by Annie Spratt on Unsplash
Melburnians enjoyed an early wake-up call when a modest 3.2 magnitude earthquake struck the Mornington Peninsula at 4:40am. Geoscience Australia reported that 'more than 500 people reported feeling the quake' from Mornington all the way to Geelong. It was just enough of a temblor to remind everyone, 'Yes, the earth is still active, and your coffee isn't ready yet.' This seismic flirtation offers no excuse to stay in bed longer – unless you blame it on the shaking.
