Michaelia Cash’s Genocide Redefinition: War Isn’t Deadly, Apparently

On September 18, 2025, Michaelia Cash, shadow foreign affairs minister and part-time word gymnast, expertly dismissed a UN commission’s genocide findings in Gaza by reminding everyone she’s a lawyer—and lawyers love loopholes. According to Cash, genocide isn’t 'simply about loss of life in war,' despite tens of thousands dead, because it requires that certain legally complicated, Nobel Prize-worthy 'deliberate intent to destroy' Palestinians. Meanwhile, Israel’s defensive moves against Hamas terrorism are apparently so nuanced only diplomats and confused mortals can parse them. So no genocide, just a very aggressive form of international hide-and-seek with lives at stake. Mic drop, or just hush?
