At the Clairton U.S. Steel plant, two workers lost their lives after explosions rocked the huge coke factory — sending black smoke and grief into the air. Amid the tragedy, EMS Chief Matthew Brown grimly confirmed 'the death toll had risen to two.' Meanwhile, Mayor Lattanzi lamented, 'It's a tragedy that workers won't be going home to their family tonight.' And if you thought that might slow down operations, don’t be silly—the facility 'can’t shut down,' said Sen. John Fetterman. Steel industry: where going home healthy is optional.
