Apple’s Clips: Social Video Editor Gets the Plug Pulled, Literally

Launched with hope in 2017, Apple’s Clips app was supposed to turn your mediocre video snippets into social media sapphires with filters, emojis, and music. By 2021 it was cluttering your screen with AR sparkle lasers and GarageBand-esque fiddly bits. Fast forward to October 10, 2025, when Apple, apparently tired of babysitting, decided to yank Clips off the App Store. New users can’t download it anymore, but current addicts get to keep their digital glue—if their iOS lets them. Apple, ever the helpful parent, even wrote an instruction manual to save your masterpieces before the inevitable ā€˜app not supported’ error crashes the party. So now, instead of innovation, you get a polite farewell and a tech eulogy titled 'no longer updated.' Cue the virtual tears.
