In one of the more spectacular displays of bureaucratic daredevilry, the Trump administration sent over 230 Venezuelan migrants straight to El Salvador's maximum-security CECOT prison, dubbing them 'sick animals' without proof. The New York Times of deportations left families like Juan JosĂ© Ramos Ramosâ hanging in agony as he endured 'physical torture' while labeled gang monsters for sporting classic ink tats â tattoos the experts say donât actually prove gang ties. And as if plotted by a sadistic game show, some migrants with green-lighted voluntary departures were sent to prison instead. Truly, as ProPublica reports, it was human Kafka with a bad tattoo.
