AMD & OpenAI’s 6 Gigawatts vs Nvidia’s $100B Thumb War

In a power play worthy of a superhero crossover, AMD teamed up with OpenAI to drop 6 gigawatts of GPUs—starting with a 1 gigawatt MI450 GPU blitz planned for half 2026—challenging Nvidia's AI throne gobbling up at least 10 gigawatts and offering up to $100 billion in cash. CEO Lisa Su is "thrilled" while OpenAI’s Sam Altman dreams of "bringing AI magic to everyone faster," probably before the GPU apocalypse hits in 2026. AMD even dangled a shiny 10% stake at a cent per share for hitting mysterious milestones, likely hoping OpenAI hits them quicker than their computer rooms melt. The future is loud, red, and probably hot.
