USS Iwo Jima and Friends Fend Off Imaginary Drug Fleets

In a dramatic Caribbean soap opera worthy of a Netflix buckle, the Trump administration has deployed a flotilla starring USS Iwo Jima, USS Jason Dunham (DDG-109), USS Gravely (DDG-107), USS San Antonio, and USS Fort Lauderdale, tossing warships and aircraft into international waters near Venezuela by early October 2025. These ships, each with vaguely intimidating missile arrays and deadly guns, are allegedly on a drug cartel busting binge despite zero public proof the seized ‘targets’ carried drugs. Venezuelan President Maduro, who denies U.S. narcoterrorism charges against him, called the military buildup 'extravagant, immoral, and bloody.' Meanwhile, Republican senators blocked a resolution stopping secret strikes, because we’re all terrible drivers of our own lives—and apparently our war powers too.
