UPS MD-11 Crashes Trying To Deliver Paradise... Too Soon

On November 4, 2025, UPS Flight 2976, a regal 34-year-old McDonnell Douglas MD-11 with tail number N259UP, decided cruising altitude was overrated and crashed shortly after lifting off from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. Headed all the way to Honolulu's Daniel K. Inouye Airport, this tri-engine relic originally flew Thai Airways skies in 1991 before UPS snatched it in 2006—clearly past its prime for Hawaiian vacations. The crash occurred at exactly 5:15 p.m., and the FAA promptly shut the airport til morning, turning Kentucky's gateway to the world into airport Nirvana for stranded travelers. Police reported ground injuries, but details remain as mysterious as the plane’s last minutes. FAA and NTSB are now on crash investigation duty while we all wonder if the plane heard Hawaii’s call a bit too literally.
