Maine Court’s Magic Trick: Paid Rent? Evicted Anyway!

Jasmin Belanger happily paid $750 back rent, only to discover her repayment deal put an eviction 'black mark' on her record. Mike Myatt, Bangor Housing Authority's director, cheerfully admitted: 'I don’t quite understand or know how those processes may be changed.' With judges handing possession to landlords even as tenants meet repayment terms—it's a bureaucratic circus! 'Our counsel works with everyone to accomplish that goal,' says Myatt, keeping renters both housed and hilariously haunted by paperwork. Everything happens for a reason!
