The U.S. hit a record 14 million unauthorized immigrants in 2023, with California and Texas still the heavyweight champs hosting nearly 8 million of them, says Pew Research. The old-school magic duo (California with 2.3M and Texas close behind at 2.1M) has lost some of its monopoly as these numbers spread like fast Wi-Fi coverage to 32 states. Florida's flexing 7.1% unauthorized immigrants—like a flex at the gym nobody asked for. The rise sparked a political remix: Latinos in South Texas began moonwalking from Democrats to the GOP, probably because 'building a border wall' became the new national anthem post-2021.
